It's 1:51 A.M. I've got class in the morning, but can't sleep. What's the best thing to do when you're suffering from insomnia?
Create a blog, of course!
So here it is, folks. Sarah Marie Holley's first blog post. It has finally happened. Really, when I think about it, it was really just inevitable - a matter of when, rather than if. It was all too easy to make a blog, which may actually be cause for concern, and reflects a crucial truth about both me and society: We all really, really like to hear ourselves talk, and in a matter of minutes you can enable yourself to make noise at the entire planet.
Those of you who know me too well also know that this blog cannot be a good thing; I do not need yet another outlet to make talk. And yet here it is, an eternal documentation of my thoughts, displayed for the entire world to see. It's dangerous, actually. This screen is a threat to everyone who reads it.
On the one hand, it's dangerous because its nearly 2 in the morning. Anything done at 2 in the morning is inherently dangerous.
It's dangerous because I really don't need another thing to add to my to-do list.
It's dangerous because writing allows one to reveal a part of oneself that others rarely see.
But perhaps the greatest danger you will discover on this site is the risk that maybe, just maybe, both you and I will learn something about ourselves that we didn't know. That kind of knowledge begs action, and we will have to do something about it. We might have to change.
So I hope you're ready. I'm definitely not. But in the words of Peter Pan, "Here we gooooooooo!!!"
